Downloading Clip'n Crop

There are three files available for download, a Window's Installer, a ZIP file and a Java JAR file.

Window's users should take advantage of the Window's Installer. The Window's Installer is a "one click" operation that automatically creates all necessary system and user directories, desktop shortcuts and "Start" menu entries.

The Window's Installer checks for a Java Run Time Environment (RTE) and installs one if it does not already exist.

The Window's Installer also creates an "Uninstall" procedure for removing the Clip'n Crop application as well as the system resources created during installation.

The ZIP file is a convienence wrapper for Linux (Ubuntu) users. The ZIP file contains a JAR file with its executable bit set and a 32x32 Clip'n Crop logo image. The ZIP file can be placed into any directory on a Linux computer and its contents extracted and executed.

The application can also be run directly from the JAR file but the Clip'n Crop environment must be created manually. This option is made available to give Linux and Apple Mac users the possibility of installing Clip'n Crop in environments not officialy supported.

PLEASE NOTE: Bug reports for unsupported Linux and Mac environments are encouraged and will be fixed for these environments as they are reported.

Manual installation instructions can be found on the Installation page.

Clip'n Crop Licensing

Clip'n Crop has three (3) operating modes depending on the user license.

Single User:

A single user license allows a user, as defined by their e-mail address, to install Clip'n Crop on as many computers as defined by the license agreement.

There are no restrictions on the use of the application within the terms of the license.

By "unloading" a license from one computer it may be freely moved to another computer as long as the license count is not exceded.

The single user license code will be e-mailed to the address provided by the user once payment has been confirmed.

Trial:

A trial license provides unrestricted use by a single user, as defined by their e-mail address, on a single computer for a period of fourteen (14) days.

During the period of the trial a license may be "unloaded" from one computer and moved to another computer.

When the trial license period has expired the application degrades to the Demonstration state.

The trial license code will be e-mailed to the address provided by the user.

Demonstration:

If a user wishes to try the application but does not wish to provide an e-mail address they may download and install the application and run it in Demonstration mode. Demonstration mode is a fully functioning application that restricts writing to disk. The user may experiment with all the features of Clip'n Crop but will not be able to save resized/cropped or renamed images. User customizations, including custom clipping rectangles WILL be saved in the user's preferences file along with any user options and customizations.

User Preferences

User preferences saved while running Clip'n Crop in Trial mode or Demonstration mode will be maintained if a user upgrades to a single user licence

Local Language Versions

Clip'n Crop is fully internationalized and translations will be made available periodically.
